IFS SECURITIES INITIATES RESEARCH DIVISION
IFS Securities, an Atlanta-based full-service independent broker-dealer, announces the creation of the IFS Research Division to serve the IFS Advisor Network as well as institutional clients. Marco Bonelli has been named Director of Research.
The IFS Research Division offers global macro and financial markets analysis through proprietary daily commentaries, theme reports, sector allocation and model portfolios. It also integrates sector research with macro coverage of industries like technology and healthcare as well as customized company research.
“In keeping with our mission of independent thinking, IFS analysts provide added value to clients through independent opinions of the markets. As a growing firm, it made sense for research to lead the firm in how we guide our clients,” IFS Securities President and CEO Alex McKenzie said. “Advisors affiliated with the IFS Advisor Network can access third-party research through Raymond James as well as have the advantage of the knowledge of our in-house research analysts,” he explained.
“IFS is pleased to have senior equity analysts of the caliber of Marco Bonelli and Marcus Valentiner join our firm,” McKenzie added.
As Director of Research, Bonelli will focus on building the IFS Research Division, authoring theme-based macro research and developing institutional business, primarily on the equity side. He joined IFS as Senior Managing Director and Head of Institutional Equities from C.L. King & Associates, where he built the international distribution network. Prior to C.L. King, Bonelli worked Northeast Securities, Raymond James and Cowen and was ranked the largest producer at each firm. He recently graduated from Alliant International University with a Ph.D. in Leadership and Management and has an MBA from the University of California.
Marcus Valentiner was appointed Senior Market Strategist. In his role he will concentrate on global market analysis across all major asset classes and macro investment strategy, assist in building institutional equity business, and also will cover a variety of investment topics. Prior to joining IFS, Valentiner was associated with C.L. King & Associates, FBR Capital Markets and Deutsche Bank where he served as a senior equity sales-trader and desk strategist. He graduated from Open University Hagen with an MBA.
